HOW SWEET IT IS

HOW SWEET IT IS is now available!

A free-spirited woman…
Eccentric interior designer Mirelle Brasseur is tired of relationships with handsome, charming, fickle men—in other words men just like the father who abandoned her. She’s fun and funky, but takes her career seriously. She’s not about to let a man derail her dreams or wound her heart again.

An ambitious man…

Award winning chef Bradan Hunt is handsome and charming, but he's always honest with women about his one date-one night rule. Between his best-selling cookbooks, his TV appearances, and his restaurant, he’s too busy for a relationship. He saw what a lack of ambition did to his parents. Bradan wants more. His newest restaurant is going to be the best, so he hires Mirelle to help him design it.

Turn up the heat…

Soon it isn’t just the food sizzling in the kitchen, in spite of Mirelle’s misgivings, as the attraction between the chef and the designer heats up. It will take more than one date-one night for them to overcome their pasts and find a way to cook up a sweet future together.

Riptide Publishing

Haylee Tremayne is tired of the road. The concert tour for Three of Hearts was a success, but she’s confused by the inexplicable tension between her bandmates, Ben and Lucas. She’s also ready to go home to her boyfriend in Nashville. Time off would probably help everyone relax, even if it is Christmas, a season with too many bad memories.

But right before their last concert, Haylee discovers she’s been dumped for a sexy girly-girl. Story of her life: all guys see is tomboy Haylee. At the after-concert party, she drowns her sorrows and—desperate to feel feminine for once in her life—asks Ben and Lucas for a threesome. And it’s just as sexy and fun as she hoped.

Back in Nashville, Ben and Lucas prove again and again that their first night wasn’t a mistake. But the tension between them is still high, and on Christmas Eve, their ménage takes a stunning turn. When it all falls apart, Haylee is terrified that their crazy relationship might cost them the band, their success, and worst of all, each other.

Now available: ALL MESSED UP

If he’s a mistake, she’s ready to make him her favorite mistake.

Windy City Kink, Book 2

Mallory Hurst has tried to live a life that makes up for past mistakes. But now she faces a huge ethical dilemma. Her pharmaceutical company’s unapproved, off-label use of a medication puts lives at risk, and her protests have fallen on deaf ears.

Hoping a trip home will clear her head, she boards a plane for California. And strikes up a conversation with a handsome stranger.

Joe Mason recently learned that the man he’s called father all his life...isn’t. At least that explains why he never measured up to his older brothers. Flying to meet his biological father for the first time, he meets a sleek, sexy woman who makes him want to mess up her perfect hair.

Shared conversation leads to a shared drink between flights, then when their flight is canceled, a shared bed overnight—where their rush of attraction explodes into a night of much-needed kinky fun.
Yet a night of hot, messy sex won’t fix anything—in fact, blowing off steam could have blown their lives all to hell...

Warning: Contains a hot cop, a neat and tidy executive, dirty talk, kink in an airport, mile-high shenanigans, a little foot fetish fun. And love, of course.

Meet the hero: Gabe from Power Shift

Here is Gabe Pejovic from Power Shift. Gabe is a unique hero for me because:
- He is the oldest hero I’ve ever written (age 40)
- He’s the only hero I’ve written not born in either Canada or the US (he’s from Bosnia)

We first met Gabe in Power Struggle. He and Tori were play partners at Le Château, and as an experienced Dom, he gives Dev some good advice. But lately Gabe’s been tired of that scene and decides to take a break from it. Nothing is satisfying him. His painful past still haunts him and he’s a bit dark and broody, but also devoted to his dying mother. He has a powerful presence, is forceful and maybe a bit impatient. His first job when he moved to America was in construction. He then started his own construction business which has made him very wealthy. He likes to give back and help other men who are starting in America with nothing and who may not speak English well.

Here’s an excerpt from Power Shift:

Reagan watched the man sitting across from her, trying to control her drumming heart beat and her jumping nerves. She hadn’t been prepared for this.
Well, she’d been prepared for the meeting. She was always prepared for business. That was never a doubt. She just hadn’t been prepared for him.
He sat there, well…smoldering. He gave off waves of intensity—waves of testosterone and dark brooding strength. His presence filled the room, even more so than Joe’s, who was a pretty spectacular hunk of masculinity. Between the two of them they definitely dominated the space, but Gabe even more so.
When he ran hand over his short dark hair, or rubbed a hand over his darkly stubbled chin, it made her want to touch him too. When he spoke in that faintly accented, dark and delicious voice, it made her all fluttery inside. When his mesmerizing cobalt blue eyes fastened on her, it made her clench down low inside and want to drop her eyes. All this friction between them was generating a lot of heat, which was completely inappropriate and totally unwelcome. Good lord, what was wrong with her?
She prided herself on anticipating people’s reactions and having a plan to deal with them, and yet she’d never anticipated that he would object to the design-build job she was proposing. And she’d never anticipated her reaction to him being so powerfully...sexual.
She tried to keep her voice from rising, tried to be businesslike and objective, suddenly impatient with his arguments and reluctance. “Should we just put this out to tender? Or find another contractor?”
He met her gaze and she didn’t back down, lifted her chin and held his gaze.
“No,” Tara said.
Shit. She’d been so provoked by Gabe Pejovic she’d forgotten about her clients and their best interests.

Meet the hero: Joe from Taming Tara

.
And today let's meet another hero from one of those newly price reduced books! Here's Joe Scaletta from Taming Tara.

Joe is a strong, dominant, take-charge guy, decisive and maybe a leeeetle bit bossy and arrogant. His successful business career came to a crashing halt when he discovered accounting improprieties at the tech company he worked for. When he tried to bring them to the attention of his superiors, he ended up taking the fall for them and being charged with corruption and grand larceny. He got off…but just try finding a job after that! Lucky for him, his grandma in Santa Barbara knew someone who needed a manager. So now he’s starting a new job working for... Santa Ynez Olives. What a come down! But he’s going to make the best of it and is determined to do a good job. If the boss’s grand-daughter will let him…

Here’s a little excerpt from Taming Tara:

Tara awoke later that night, the lamp still on, almost startled to find herself in bed with a big warm male body, his hair-roughed arms around her and one hairy muscled leg twined with hers. His soft breathing told her he was asleep.
Remembering her astonishment at the size of him when he’d removed his pants, she slid a hand down his side, over his square hip bone and lifted the covers enough that she could peek down at their bodies. His penis, soft but still impressive, lay against her thigh, thick and heavy, his balls beneath it fat and round. Her gaze was glued there, studying the perfect shape of the round head of his penis, when he twitched against her. She dropped the duvet and her eyes flew up to his, which were now open and watching her with amusement.
“Do you like what you see?” he asked, his voice raspy. She pressed her lips together in embarrassment, then she shrugged.
“I’ve seen bigger.”
“Bullshit.” He rolled her onto her back and pinned her down. A small gasp escaped her lips. His eyes gleamed wickedly, his mouth curved and those dimples flitted across his cheeks. His face was really dark now with scruffy beard and she put a hand up to touch his cheek, to stroke the roughness there. He closed his eyes briefly at her touch, rubbed his cheek against her hand. “I guess I need to shave.”
“You’re a little rough.”
“Yeah.” He held her gaze. “But you like it rough. Don’t you, Tara?” His voice was a velvet seduction.
“Um…”
He kissed her mouth and she felt him hardening, lengthening against her thigh. “I know what you like.”
“You do not.”
He arched a brow. “You’re going to argue with me? Now?”
She blinked.
“Go ahead,” he invited her. “It turns me on when you argue with me.” And he kissed her again, igniting every nerve ending. Jesus. She’d been fighting with him ever since he arrived and here she’d been turning him on. Talk about the wrong strategy!
And yet the knowledge she affected him that way made her all warm and syrupy.

Photo: With the prices reduced on many of my Ellora's Cave books, I thought I'd introduce you to some of the heroes of those books. This week we'll meet Dev from Power Struggle; Joe from Taming Tara; and Gabe from Power Shift. First up is Dev.

Meet Dr. Devlin Fillmore from Power Struggle (now only $3.00 at Amazon!)

Don’t let the boyish good looks fool you…Dev is a physician and good at his job. He’s caring and determined and principled. He takes his physician vow to "do no harm" very seriously. So it’s a big challenge for him when he falls for a woman who likes a little pain… Can he learn to give Tori what she needs? Or will his principles stand in the way of a relationship with the woman he loves?

Here’s a short excerpt from Power Struggle:

Dev paused next to Tori Markham. He’d spotted her from across the room—the little blonde in a strapless black gown speeding across the ballroom on crutches had attracted looks from more than just him.
“Okay, seriously, I think three times is a sign,” he said, smiling down at her.
Her lips curved into what appeared to be a reluctant smile. “Three times?”
“Yeah.” He was crazy, but dammit, he was attracted to her. “Three times we’ve run into each other now. It has to be a sign. That maybe we should go out, or something.”
Her smile disappeared and she lowered herself into the chair at the table. “Sorry,” she said. “I have to sit down. I got really tired and my ankle hurts.”
He pulled out another chair and dropped into it, sliding it close enough that their knees touched. “Are you okay? Want me to get you something?”
“I’d love a drink, but I’m afraid of getting drunk and falling down again.”
“You fall down drunk often?”
Her laughter warmed him inside. “No, of course not.”
“Then have a drink. What can I get you?”
“Um…maybe a glass of wine. Those martinis pack a punch.”
“Okay. Be right back.”
He’d ditched his parents and their friends to chase Tori, but they’d be fine without him. They’d just dragged him to this shindig to introduce him as the newest partner at the clinic. He snagged two glasses of white wine—shit. Did she want red or white? He paused. He’d go with the white. He wasn’t wasting any time when Tori was sitting there alone. No doubt some other guy would be putting the moves on her if he didn’t get right back there. An urgent possessiveness gripped him.
But she still sat there alone, listening to the music judging by the small movements of her body. He handed her a glass of wine.
“Thank you.”
“No problem. So. Are you here alone?” Crap. What if she had a date with her?
“I’m with my director. It’s a business thing.”
“Oh. Okay.” What did that mean, her director? Her boss? Whatever. He swallowed a mouthful of wine.
“What about you?” She eyed him with those sapphire blue eyes over the rim of her glass as she sipped.
He rolled his eyes. “My parents dragged me here.” At the look on her face, he instantly regretted his words. She already thought he was a dorky kid, and then he had to say that. Christ! He gave himself a mental smack on the back of the head. “I’m taking over my dad’s practice,” he continued. “He’s retiring. Well, he’s supposed to be retiring. They thought it would be good PR to come to this.”
She nodded. “I guess so.”
He almost started telling her about how annoying his dad was being about this whole retirement thing, but his problems were kind of a downer and not something she likely wanted to hear. “I guess dancing is out of the question tonight, huh?” he said instead with a grin.
She gave him a crooked smile. “I guess so.” She sighed. “This is such a pain.”
“Don’t worry, you’ll be better in no time.”
“If you say so, Dr. Fillmore.”
Was she making a joke by calling him that? But no...duh ! He was a complete dork! She probably didn’t know his name!
“I guess we weren’t really properly introduced, were we?” he said.
“No,” she murmured.
He stuck out his hand. “Devlin Fillmore. Dev for short.”
“Well, you know my name. Victoria Markham. Tori for short.”
They shook hands, smiling into each other’s eyes, maintaining both the eye contact and the hand contact for a long, drawn out moment. Her hand was small and fragile in his and his body tightened. He dragged his gaze away from her face, letting it slide over small bare shoulders, down over delicate breasts outlined by layers of sheer black fabric. An urge to lean forward and lick her shoulder swept over him, an intense burning desire to taste her skin, to put his mouth on her, to eat her up. His body started to move toward her…
Get a grip, man.
“So,” he croaked. “About that going out thing.”
She yanked her hand back out of his and frowned. “Don’t be silly.”
Not quite the answer he’d been hoping for. “What’s silly about it?” He frowned too. She gave him a stern look back, but he’d seen the heat and feminine interest in her eyes seconds ago.
“First of all, I don’t think doctors are supposed to date their patients.”
“You’re not my patient. Not since you walked out of the urgent care center the other day.”
She pressed her lips together briefly. “Well, there’s also the fact that I’m way too old for you.”
He laughed.
Her eyes widened.
“That’s ridiculous,” he scoffed.
“You’re twenty-nine. You’re a baby.”
Heat swept up from beneath his dress shirt and tie and into his cheeks, and surged through his veins. Jesus, he was sick of hearing that. He narrowed his eyes at her. She squirmed a bit in her seat. “A baby, huh?” Now he did lean forward, close enough to brush his mouth over her ear. “I don’t think so, sweet thing.” She tried to ease away from him but the back of her chair kept her in place. “I am most definitely…all…grown…up.” He nuzzled her exotic-scented hair, drifted his lips over the curve of her jaw, hovered near her mouth, her lips parted. He waited. Neither of them breathed. Then he kissed her, a slow, soft brush of mouths with just a hint of tongue lingering on her bottom lip.
He pulled back and met her gaze, her blue eyes wide and dark. She swallowed and lifted a hand to her hair. They sat there, nearly nose to nose, just looking at each other. Heat curled inside him.
“Don’t give me that bullshit about age,” he finally said, very softly. “You know that doesn’t make a damn bit of difference.”
